Community Club Volunteer (General, Lunch, Creative and Excursions volunteer opportunities available)

Join our friendly team at the Brixton Windmill Thursday Community Club for local residents aged over 60. Whether you are young (but over 16), between jobs, at any stage of your working life, or if you have been retired for decades, your assistance at our Thursday Club is very welcome. You may even be a member of our club, helping out at lunchtime, running arts and crafts activities, or supporting setting up and clearing at the end of the day; so if you’re over 60 years of age and wish to volunteer with us, you are also very welcome to join the club as a member too.

Our Community Club is a popular weekly fixture for many local residents and the membership has grown since early 2022 with around 25 people attending each week. As a volunteer, you will be supported by the Community Club Facilitator and other longer term volunteers to ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The club runs from 10am to 2pm every Thursday.

The club brings a diverse group of local Seniors together through activities and sharing a freshly cooked meal. Sometimes we make excursions to galleries, museums, public gardens and other places of interest in London.
